What is the minimum order on a custom uniform program?+
There is no minimum order. OTIA runs a digital decoration workflow (DTF, embroidery, laser), so a single replacement uniform shirt for one new hire runs at the same flat per-piece price as a 200-piece program order. Most uniform programs start with an initial batch order to fit the team, then run single-piece replacement orders against the same setup as new hires come on or pieces need replacing.
How does pricing work on uniforms — do I get a discount for ordering more?+
No quantity-break discounts. Our pricing is a flat per-piece promise: a uniform shirt costs the same per piece whether you order one or two hundred. The reason is that uniform programs need to support both the initial program order and the ongoing single-piece replacement orders — and tier pricing would punish you on every replacement reorder. The flat per-piece price you saw in your quote is the price you pay on every order against the program, indefinitely. For the full pricing breakdown see /pricing.
What's included when you quote a uniform program?+
The quote includes the blank garment cost, the decoration cost (embroidery, DTF, or both), and the per-piece total. There are no separate setup fees on a first order and no separate art fees if your logo is supplied as vector art (SVG, AI, or EPS). If we need to digitize a logo from a raster source (PNG, JPG) the digitization runs as a one-time setup that lives on file forever — every reorder after that runs against the same digitized file with no re-setup. Shipping is billed at cost; in-person Long Island pickup at our Huntington shop is free.
How do I care for the uniforms — what wash protocols do they survive?+
Cotton and cotton-blend pieces (Port Authority K500 polos, K420 polos, W100 button-downs, CornerStone CS620 hoodies) survive home laundering in cold to warm water with tumble dry on low or medium. Restaurant FOH polos in the K500 survive commercial wash cycles when embroidered with polyester thread — we use polyester thread by default on any program that mentions commercial laundering. Performance polyester (Sport-Tek ST350 tees, ST650 polos) survives both home and commercial wash and air-dries quickly. Hi-vis tees and chef coats survive a hot commercial wash cycle by design.
Do you stock youth sizing and extended sizes (XS–4XL or larger)?+
Yes. The Port Authority K500 / K420 / W100 polos and button-downs run from XS through 6XL on the men's cut and XS through 4XL on the ladies' cut (L500). Sport-Tek ST350 and ST650 run from XS through 4XL men's, XS through 4XL ladies' (LST650). Youth sizing is available on the Port Authority K420 and the Sport-Tek YST350 for school programs that need consistent SKUs across faculty, staff, and student dress-code wear. Hi-vis tees and chef coats run from S through 4XL or 5XL depending on style. Tall sizing (TLK500, TST650) covers the roughly 15% of male program participants who need it.
How does the reorder process work after the initial program order?+
Reorders run against the same setup as the original. The digitized logo lives on file, the blank SKU and color stay locked to the program, and the per-piece price stays flat. To reorder, you can email your production contact, place the order through your company uniform store (if you have one set up), or place the order directly through the catalog page for the blank you originally ordered. Standard reorder production runs in the same 72-hour window as new orders. There is no re-setup fee, no minimum on a reorder, and no surcharge for single-piece orders.
Can OTIA hold uniform inventory for our company?+
Yes, for established programs. We can hold a buffer of decorated uniforms in popular sizes against your program — usually a few weeks of expected replacement volume — at no inventory holding fee. The buffer means a single-piece replacement order can ship same-day instead of running through the 72-hour production cycle. For company uniform store programs with sustained reorder volume the buffer is part of the standard setup; for smaller programs we run the buffer on request.
Can you embroider name tags and employee numbers on uniforms?+
Yes — and the same flat per-piece pricing applies whether the embroidery is a plain company logo or a personalized name tag. Name-tag embroidery on the right chest is standard for healthcare front-desk staff, restaurant FOH at higher-end concepts, hotel and hospitality staff, and any program where customer-facing identification matters. Employee numbers (typically embroidered on the sleeve or back) are common for delivery, mobile-service, and field-tech programs that need route identification. We keep each personalized name and number on file against the program SKU, so reorders for the same employee match exactly.
Do you produce team rosters with player names and numbers?+
Yes. For school athletic teams, recreation leagues, and corporate sports programs we run rosters with player names and numbers on the back of jerseys (DTF in most cases for full-color flexibility) or embroidered for higher-end teams. We need a roster spreadsheet with name, number, and size for each player, and we produce against the roster as a single program order. Replacement jerseys for mid-season roster additions run against the same roster setup at the same flat per-piece price.
How do school dress-code uniform programs work?+
We run school dress-code programs against a catalog of approved SKUs and colors that the school administration specifies (typically navy / royal / hunter / black polos in K500 or K420, white / light-blue button-downs in W100, and an approved hoodie or fleece for cold weather). The school-approved logo or crest is digitized once and lives on file. Parents order directly through a school uniform store, or order through the catalog page during the back-to-school window with the school's specified SKU and color. Faculty and athletic department staff order through the same store at the same flat per-piece price.
Can I add new employees to an existing uniform program?+
Yes. The existing program setup — the digitized logo, the SKU list, the approved colors, the per-piece pricing — supports any number of additional pieces ordered against it indefinitely. A new hire onboarding three months after the initial program order gets the exact same uniform pieces at the same flat per-piece price. The order can come through the company uniform store if you have one set up, or directly through your production contact at OTIA. There is no re-onboarding cost when adding employees to an existing program.
Do you set up dedicated uniform stores for ongoing employee orders?+
Yes — and this is the right structure for any program above 30 employees or any multi-location operation. A dedicated company uniform store lives at /stores under your company's own subdomain or path. Each authorized employee logs in, sees the SKU list and color options HR has approved, sees the budget HR has set per employee, and orders directly. Replacement orders ship straight to the employee's home or work address; the central HR or office team stops eating the coordination cost. The store runs against the same flat per-piece pricing as the original program order — no platform fee, no markup. For more detail on company stores see /stores.
Do you offer made-to-measure uniforms or custom-cut tailoring?+
No. OTIA decorates blank uniforms from the major apparel suppliers (Port Authority, Sport-Tek, CornerStone, Mercer+Mettle, Chef Designs, Red Kap, and others). We do not cut-and-sew custom patterns. If your program requires a custom silhouette, a fully bespoke uniform design, or contract-manufacturing volumes, you are looking for a different type of shop — happy to refer you to one if you reach out. Our brief is to take excellent off-the-shelf uniform blanks and turn them into a coherent, long-lived uniform program through decoration, fit consultation, and reorder support.
How fast can you turn around a uniform reorder?+
Reorders against an already-digitized logo and an in-stock blank run inside our standard 72-hour production window. New-color reorders on the same blank typically run in the same window. Same-week turnaround on a fresh 20-50 piece reorder is routine. True rush orders (24-48 hour) are possible when the production calendar can absorb them — we will tell you yes or no on the rush at the time you call, not after the order is placed. For programs running with an OTIA inventory buffer, single-piece replacements can ship same-day.
