Custom apparel from On The Island Apparel — in one paragraph

On The Island Apparel produces custom-decorated apparel out of a Huntington, New York production shop: t-shirts, polos, hoodies, hats, uniforms, jackets, sweatshirts, and more. Every order ships within 72 hours of artwork approval, with no minimum order and no setup fees — flat per-piece pricing whether you order one piece or one thousand. Custom Apparel for Long Island Businesses, Teams, and Events

On The Island Apparel decorates tees, polos, hoodies, hats, uniforms, and jackets in our Huntington shop — no minimums, no setup fees, and a flat per-piece rate whether you order one shirt or one thousand. Orders are produced in-house via DTF printing, embroidery, or laser engraving and ship within 72 hours of artwork approval. Built for restaurants, contractors, schools, real-estate teams, healthcare offices, and event organizers who need it on time, on brand, and on the island.

Why On The Island Apparel

There is no shortage of places to order custom shirts online. Here is what a Huntington, NY shop with all decoration under one roof actually gets you that a national online broker cannot.

Made in Huntington, NY

Every order is decorated in our Huntington production shop. You are not shipping artwork to a broker who forwards it to a print farm three states away — you are talking directly to the people pulling your prints off the press. That means faster proofs, faster fixes, and a real person to call when a school's pep-rally order needs to land on Friday.

Same-Week Reorders

Standard production is 72 hours from artwork approval. For repeat customers with artwork already on file, reorders frequently ship the same week we receive the request — no re-setup, no re-art-prep fees, no waiting in a fresh queue. Your logo stays in our system so the second order is faster than the first.

No Minimums Ever

One piece, ten pieces, ten thousand pieces — the price-per-piece does not get a setup fee tacked on for small runs, and we do not require a minimum to start. If a contractor needs three embroidered work shirts for a new hire, we make three. If a school needs 800 fundraiser tees, we make 800. Same shop, same week.

In-house Decoration

DTF printing, computerized embroidery, and laser engraving all happen under one roof in Huntington. Multi-method orders — embroidered polos plus DTF-printed tees plus laser-engraved tumblers for the same event — go out as a single shipment from a single team. Nothing gets sub-contracted out, so nothing falls through the cracks between vendors.

How it works

From idea to box on the truck in days, not weeks. Four steps.

  1. 1

    Pick your garment

Browse the catalog or ask our personal shopper for a recommendation. Tees, polos, hoodies, hats, jackets, uniforms — every blank in our catalog is available for in-house decoration.

  2. 2

    Upload your artwork

Send a logo, photo, sketch, or just an idea. Vector files are ideal but we accept JPG and PNG, and our team prepares your art for print at no charge.

  3. 3

    Approve your mockup

We send a digital mockup showing your art on the actual garment, in the actual decoration location, before anything goes to production. You approve, we proceed.

  4. 4

    Produced in 72 hours, shipped

Standard production runs 72 hours from approval. Orders ship from Huntington with tracking, or local Long Island customers can pick up directly from the shop.

Custom apparel FAQ

The most common questions we get from Long Island businesses, teams, and event organizers ordering custom apparel for the first time.

Is there a minimum order for custom apparel?
No. On The Island Apparel has no minimum order, ever. You can order one custom-decorated t-shirt, polo, hoodie, hat, jacket, or uniform piece — same price-per-piece structure as a 1,000-piece run, with no setup fees or art-prep fees added on for short runs.
How does pricing work?
Flat per-piece pricing on every order. The total is the garment cost plus a per-piece decoration charge — the same per-piece rate whether you order one or one thousand. There are no setup fees, no minimums, and no surprise art charges. Submit your project at /quote and you'll receive an itemized written quote within one business day.
What is your turnaround time?
Standard production is 72 hours from the moment you approve your digital mockup. Shipping or pickup is on top of that. Rush production is available on a case-by-case basis — ask when you submit your quote and we'll tell you what's possible for your timeline.
What decoration methods do you offer?
Three, all in-house: DTF (direct-to-film) printing for full-color logos and photo-real artwork on virtually any fabric; computerized embroidery for polos, hats, jackets, and uniforms; and laser engraving for drinkware, awards, signage, and hard-good promos. You can mix methods inside a single order.
What file format do you need for artwork?
Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, .PDF with outlined fonts) are ideal because they scale to any size cleanly. We also accept high-resolution PNG or JPG (300 DPI at print size). If your art needs cleanup or rebuilding, our team handles it at no charge — we'll send a mockup for approval before anything prints.
Can I really order just one custom shirt?
Yes. A single decorated shirt costs the same per-piece as one out of a hundred. We routinely produce single-piece orders for birthday gifts, prototype samples, replacement uniform pieces, and new-hire welcome kits. No minimum, no setup, no upcharge for ordering small.
What is included in a custom-apparel order?
Your quoted price includes the blank garment, in-house decoration, free art-prep and cleanup, a digital mockup for approval, production, and packing for shipment or local pickup. Shipping is quoted separately based on weight and destination. There are no setup fees, screen fees, or digitizing fees added on.
Should I do embroidery or DTF on polos?
Embroidery is the traditional, premium choice for polos — it looks professional, lasts the life of the garment, and is what most office, hospitality, and real-estate teams expect. DTF makes sense on polos when your logo has many colors, photo elements, or gradients that embroidery cannot reproduce cleanly. Both are available; ask if you're unsure and we'll recommend.
Do you do color matching?
Yes. For DTF prints we color-match to standard reference systems (PMS / Pantone) as closely as the substrate and decoration method allow. For embroidery we match to standard thread libraries (Madeira, Isacord). Exact color match across decoration methods, garment colors, and dye lots is not guaranteed, but we'll flag any concerns on your proof before production.
Do you offer rush production?
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Same-day, next-day, and 24-hour turns are sometimes possible depending on the size of the order, the decoration method, and the current production schedule. Tell us your in-hand date when you submit your quote and we'll tell you what's achievable.
Do you offer samples before I commit?
For larger orders we can produce a single decorated sample piece before running the full quantity, billed at the same per-piece rate plus shipping. For small orders the first piece off the press is your sample. Either way, you always approve a digital mockup before anything prints.
What happens after I submit a quote request?
Within one business day you'll receive a written, itemized quote covering garment, decoration, and shipping. You confirm the quote, upload or approve artwork, we send a digital mockup, you approve the mockup, and standard production runs 72 hours from approval. You'll have a single point of contact on our team the entire way through.
Do you ship outside Long Island?
Yes. We ship anywhere in the United States, with most orders going via standard ground from Huntington. Local Long Island customers are welcome to pick up from the shop and save the shipping line item.
Can you handle a managed company store?
Yes. For organizations that need recurring apparel (new-hire kits, branded merch stores, multi-location uniform programs, school spirit shops), we set up a managed online storefront with your approved products, your branding, and our production behind it. Ask about managed stores when you submit your quote.
