What we've learned.
What buyers in this vertical consistently get wrong — and what we have actually seen in production.
Observation · 01
OTIA does not manufacture scrubs in-house — we source them. For patient-facing polos, branded jackets, and clinic outreach apparel, we do decorate.
Observation · 02
Be explicit with your buyers about that line: scrub orders are a sourcing relationship; decoration orders are our actual production capability.
Observation · 03
Patient-facing staff want apparel that looks more like a uniform than a clinic uniform. Polished polos with subtle left-chest embroidery read more professional than DTF graphics.

Patient-facing polos & medical button-downs
Front-desk staff, intake coordinators, and admin set the tone before a patient sees a provider. Embroidered polos and structured button-downs read as polished, not clinical. We default to embroidery for anything customer-facing — it ages better than print on weekly wash cycles.
- Embroidered logo at left chest or sleeve
- Stain-resistant performance fabrics
- Sizes XS–6XL across most stocked blanks

Scrubs & lab coats — sourcing, not decoration
Honest answer: we don't decorate medical scrubs in-house. The poly-spandex blends most scrubs are made from don't hold embroidery cleanly and aren't a good match for our DTF process. We can source bulk scrubs and lab coats through our wholesale catalog for clinic-wide rollouts, but for decorated uniforms we'd point you toward our embroidered polos and button-downs instead.
- Bulk sourcing on scrubs and lab coats available
- Embroidery best on cotton, cotton-blend, and structured wovens
- Lab coats can be embroidered at the chest for provider names

Branded jackets for admin staff & outreach
Embroidered soft-shell jackets and pullovers for clinic admin, community outreach, and health fair teams. Same digitized logo we use on your polos — one file, consistent finish across every garment your staff wears off-site.
- Soft-shell and quarter-zip pullovers
- Embroidered crest at left chest
- Reorder the same SKU as you hire on

Patient drinkware & event swag
Laser-engraved tumblers, branded water bottles, and event giveaways for patient appreciation days, hospital open houses, and community health fairs. Engraving holds up better than print on metal drinkware — it won't fade through a dishwasher cycle.
- Laser-engraved YETI and YETI-style tumblers
- Branded water bottles and totes
- Event-day giveaways, pre-packed by team

Welcome kits for new hires
Onboarding a new nurse, MA, or admin? We pre-pack a welcome kit — embroidered polo, branded notebook, tumbler, and a thank-you card — shipped directly to their home before day one. It sets a tone and saves your office manager an hour of packing.
- Pre-packed by hire, shipped to home
- Polo, drinkware, and printed welcome card
- Optional manager dashboard for size selection
FAQ
Frequently asked.
Short answers to the questions buyers in this industry ask first.
Can we use patient or staff photos on promotional merch under HIPAA?+
We default to brand marks, logos, and generic imagery for any printed merch — never identifiable patient photos without explicit, written authorization. If you want photography on a t-shirt or tote, send us the signed media release and we'll print it. For most clinics, your logo plus a tagline is the safer call.
Do you carry scrubs in our staff sizing range?+
We source bulk scrubs through our wholesale catalog in standard XS–5XL, with petite and tall options on select brands. For decorated uniforms — embroidered polos, button-downs, jackets — we stock XS–6XL across most styles and can ship a fit kit before a clinic-wide order.
Will embroidery hold up on a poly-blend uniform?+
Yes, when the fabric weight and backing are right. Performance poly-blend polos take embroidery cleanly. Light, slick poly tech tees don't — the stitch puckers over time. We'll flag any garment that isn't a good match for embroidery before you place the order and recommend DTF or a different blank.
Can you match our hospital or system dress code?+
Yes. Send us your dress code spec — approved colors, logo placement rules, neckline requirements — and we'll build a private catalog with only the compliant options so your staff can't pick the wrong shirt. This works well for multi-clinic systems.
How fast can you turn a clinic-wide rollout?+
Typical clinic of 20–50 staff: 3 weeks from spec lock to delivery. That covers logo digitizing, a fit-sample run, full production, and shipping. Smaller offices (under 20) often run in 2 weeks. Larger systems we'd plan for 4–6 weeks to stay comfortable.
